How long does it take to move to Morocco?

For a maximum stay of 90 days, nationals from Germany,  Austria and Switzerland do not require a visa. Entry is only possible with a  passport, not an identity card. The passport must be  valid for at least 6 months after entry.

If you are entering the country by vehicle, such as a camper van or your own car, you must carry a "green insurance card" valid for Morocco.   If you do not have one, you must take out border insurance at the border. Furthermore, at the border crossing, you will give the customs officer a declaration of temporary registration.

There are several possibilities for permanent settlement. At present, only permanent residence for a maximum of 10 years can be obtained. For details call  us, we will be happy to advise you.

Moving to Morocco- Costs:
Because there are so many variables, it is usually difficult to estimate what international removals cost as they often vary considerably. However, you should consider the following factors when planning your move to Morocco.

Mode of transport:
Moving by air is generally the fastest, but also more expensive. Alternatively, sea freight or land transport is usually cheaper. See our information on sea freight and air freight for details on container sizes, among other things.

Size of the move:
The size and weight of the possessions will affect the cost, as the calculation of the price is based on the weight and space requirements of the goods to be moved.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
Please fill out our form accurately and completely so that we can provide you with a binding quote.

Packing:
Special moving boxes and packaging are the best solution to ensure that fragile items are transported safely.

Moving to Morocco, like any international move, is a challenge. Often, a combination of transport modes is used, the most important by air freight and the rest of your goods by sea freight or overland.
Moroccan: About 90% of Moroccans speak Moroccan Arabic, called Darija, while only about 0.7% of the population speak the Hassania dialect. Various Berber languages are spoken by Moroccans of Berber descent; a good half of Moroccans speak a Berber language. Berber languages in Morocco include Central Atlas Tamazight (also Tamazight, in the Middle Atlas), Ghomara, Tarifit (in the Rif mountains), Taschelhit (in southern Morocco), Tassoussit (in the Sous region), Senhaja de Srair and, today, only occasional Judeo-Berber. The official languages of Morocco are Arabic and Moroccan Tamazight. French is used throughout the country as a language of commerce, education and unofficial working language.
Most people who move to Morocco from Germany usually bring most of their possessions with them. However, in order to ensure that not only the transport, but the entire move goes off without complications, you should take care of the formalities as best you can beforehand.

Morocco

Morocco is located in the northwest of Africa. It is separated from the European continent by the Strait of Gibraltar. As the westernmost of the five (with Western Sahara six) Maghreb countries, it borders the Mediterranean Sea to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the west and Algeria to the east.Morocco's southern border is internationally disputed because of the Western Sahara conflict until a UN referendum is held on the future affiliation of Western Sahara. Compared to other African states, Morocco does not have a large national territory, but in its surface form it presents an extremely varied picture.

Essentially, the following natural units can be distinguished: the coastal regions in the north and west; the Atlantic region with the Moroccan Meseta; the montane region with the High and Middle Atlas and the Rif Mountains; finally, the transmontane region with the plateaus in the northeastern border region, the Antiatlas and the basin landscapes on the edge of the Sahara. The Mediterranean coast is predominantly steep and rocky and has many capes and bays. The Atlantic coast, on the other hand, is a flat, hardly indented compensation coast with strong sand transport and is therefore poorly suited for harbours. Inland, broader coastal plains follow here, such as the lowlands of the Sebou near Kenitra and the extensive coastal meseta of Casablanca.
About 45 % of the population are Berbers including 21 % Arabised Berbers. They are mostly sedentary farmers today; only a minority still live as nomads or semi-nomadic in remote areas of the Middle Atlas or on the high plateaus in the east of the country.

Around 44 % of Moroccans are of Arab descent. Northern Morocco with the old metropolis of Fez is more Arab (34 % of the population Arab, 25 % Arabised Berber), southern Morocco and its metropolis Marrakech more Berber.

Form of government: Morocco is a hereditary monarchyMorocco has been independent again since 1956 and is a constitutional monarchy according to the constitution of 1992. The most important cities in the North African country are Casablanca, the capital Rabat, Fez, Marrakech, Agadir, Tangier and Meknès. Nine sites are part of Morocco's World Heritage. While the country refers to itself in its own official state name al-Mamlaka al-Maghribiya 'The Kingdom of the Sunset' as the "Maghreb Kingdom", the European derivation of the name of the former capital Marrakech (Moroccan Tamazight) has become internationally accepted for the entire Kingdom of Morocco. According to the 1992 constitution, last amended in 1996 and 2011, Morocco is a nominal constitutional monarchy The king not only appoints the prime minister, who is usually proposed by the strongest political party in parliament, but also individual ministers and must approve the entire cabinet. He also has the right to dissolve parliament at any time and to declare a state of emergency.Morocco had a bicameral system of National Assembly and Senate after the 1996 constitutional reform. The National Assembly now consisted of 325 members who are directly elected every five years; 30 seats were reserved for women. All Moroccans over the age of 20 were eligible to vote.
